BizWeek 2017 is a celebration of business, industry and entrepreneurship. Events during the week are designed to show appreciation for all Macon County businesses, large and small.

Associate Dean for the College of Business at Western Carolina University

Mr. Flynt graduated magna cum laude from WCU and earned a Master of Economics degree from NC State University. During his 36 year business career Mr. Flynt was a bank entrepreneur, having been CEO or founder of four commercial banks and two mortgage banks. He also served four years as Chief Economic Advisor to Gov. James B. Hunt, Jr. He currently sits on several corporate boards.

In his various roles, Ken works closely with regional and community groups on business matters relevant to the WNC region, and connects the Corporation for Enterprise and Innovation and Pinnacle Enterprise Fund with business support agencies, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and venture investors.

Director of the Hospitality and Tourism Program at Western Carolina University

Dr. Morse will be on hand during Entrepreneur Networking Night VII to offer insights on the economic impact of tourism in Macon County.

Before his appointment at WCU, he served on the faculty and was director of the Tourism Institute at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Morse is a frequent speaker at national and state hospitality and tourism conferences, and conducts workshops and seminars for regional and local tourism organizations, governments, and Chambers of Commerce to help the public better understand the impact of tourist spending on the economic development of local economies.
